Even when one is certain of the destination, reaching a conclusive decision can occasionally be challenging. Five primary factors distinguish Waterloo University from its competitors:

It’s all about experience:

Future objectives must be carefully considered when choosing the optimal university. You have the opportunity to gain experience in a discipline related to your intended major at Waterloo.

Students have access to an abundance of opportunities to pursue their interests at Waterloo, including the largest co-op program in North America, hackathons, societies, credential programs, lab work, and field studies.

Graduates enrolled in the co-op program at Waterloo may accumulate a maximum of twenty-four months of paid work experience. A solid resume, interviewing abilities, and self-assurance will have you prepared to enter the workforce.

Additionally, you will have developed long-lasting professional connections with both employers and colleagues, which will prove advantageous as you initiate your quest for employment.

Even the most structured programs can be customized:

Almost always, opportunities exist to specialize and enhance classroom instruction. You can optimize your educational experience by engaging in preliminary research and preparation before selecting a certificate, minor, option, or specialization.

Contrary to what you may have heard, it is not possible to customize your degree through certain programs. Although the pursuit may at times appear daunting due to the sheer volume of information, it is indeed attainable. Upon your arrival, our academic advisors will be available to assist you. You do not, however, need to know precisely where you are headed at this time.

I don’t need to make any concessions, as I have the option to supplement my arts degree with a minor. While pursuing my interests in two disciplines, I can graduate in the same time frame. Utilize it upon your arrival at school; the situation is ideal!

50+ clubs and a city made for students:

Permit me to debunk the fallacy that our sole pursuits at Waterloo are academic pursuits. This is false. We play intensely in addition to exerting ourselves diligently.

Devoting four to five years of one’s life to academic pursuits may not be pleasurable; at the very least, it may not be as delightful as it could be. Therefore, ensure that you have access to engaging events and groups in which you can participate.
